    The GCR has announced that 6023 King Edward II is to be renamed as 6015 King Richard III next Monday ( 11th March) and work a special 08.30 Loughborough to Leicester North service. The train is expected to arrive back at Loughborough at around 10.30.
    The train will pause at Leicester North for approximately 30 minutes and a return fare of £10 will be charged.


    It is envisaged that 6023 will return to Didcot in early May, in time for their steam gala.

    Was it accosted by traitors and Welshmen and savagely beaten and hacked with Medieval weapons ? (like the last one that went anywhere near Leicester)
    Doing a stint on the nearby Battlefield line would be appropriate...

    The GCR has said that 6023 will run as 6015 on the 20th and 21st April:

    The Great Central Railway has said that 6023 King Edward II will haul public services as 6015 King Richard III on April 20th and 21st.


    This will follow its turn on the GCR's dining train on April 19th and will be the locomotive's first weekend of running as 6015.
