Another excellent Steam Gala from the ELR.

Got full line trips behind all 3 ex-LNER loco's, as well as 80080 and the Super D. A fully enjoyable day out.

Looking forward to seeing 70013 'Oliver Cromwell' in July and the Duchess in October.

Thoroughly enjoyable visit yesterday - well done to all involved in putting on this "new look" steam gala.

Certainly gets a big "thumbs up" from me and from others heard talking who really liked the "always something happening" feel to the gala.

Hope this timetable can be adopted for future events?

Great to see freight in the loop at Rawtenstall (45407), passenger set in the platform (49395) and K4 stood in the bay.

Then later seeing 6 locos at Ramsbottom (around 1645), K4/K1 heading to Rawtenstall, 80080/49395 heading to Bury and 45407/47324 in the sidings with the shuttle.

Highlight (as ever for me) was the Super D - appreciate the efforts of those last week who got this loco into service.

    Roll on 1T57 event next.

    Best Regards

Do they have signalling at Rawtenstall yet ?, or was it done under station limits operation ?
any plans for signalling and/or making that head shunt on the runround loop into a whole platform as it used to be ?

All was done under station limits operation. No plans to put in another platform.

Yesterday was under "station limits" with a pilot? boarding all trains as they were stopped before the level crossing.

At the risk of being repetitive I want to add my thanks for a really good gala, the mix of locos and the use of shuttles, switching of engines at Rawtenstall, a cracking freight train (loved the Southern Ferry Van) and, of course, the G2.

Thumbs up to one and all, not forgetting hughesfowler for keeping us updated on here.

Thanks Michael. Nice to be back on the ELR for the first time in about 15 years. Trains looked full and a good variety of workings so think this gala was a big success.
