Excuse the ignorance of this trainee steam watcher but...looking at the outward times on UK Steam Info, I presume this will pass through Chiswick station before looping round at the Kew East Junction to head through South Acton and then up north? Just wanted to double check as it's going to be very wet (and still dark) in the morning and I don't want to be in the wrong place!

BBC have been reporting all morning that the signal problem following yesterday's fire is expected to be resolved by 1500 today?

Edited to update. Live report from Paddington on BBC1's 1pm News saying it will now be 4pm today at the earliest before the (re-built) signal equipment is working and there could be disruption "for the rest of the day".

If its running, yes you are correct it will pass through Chiswick to Kew East Junction.

Thanks mrKnowwun. Latest info on the National Rail site states that the current disruption is likely to continue throughout Saturday.

If anyone gets any definite info on whether this will run behind 60009, I'd be grateful if you put it on here, as I am planning to go to St Albans to see it, which means about a 6.15 departure for me!

I've never seen this loco before.

It's not a question of whether it runs behind 60009 - it's a WCRC operation which means that the train has to get from Southall to Victoria. So it should run steam hauled or not at all. Hopefully as it's due to leave Southall at 0508 before the Paddington line gets busy it should be OK.

Hope 60009 isn't affected as I'm heading up to the NRM and want to see her. Then again me getting to York could be a problem as there was a fire overnight at Preston Park that affected electric cables and a lineside signalling equipment cabinet which has been causing disruption all day.

Heavy rain, as forecast, in west London this morning - and I guess most other parts of the UK too. Will be heading out for this one soonish unless someone posts an update here that 60009 is stuck at Southall.

National Rail update at 6am: "
Trains are now running normally to and from London Paddington following a signalling problem near Hayes & Harlington that started on Thursday 20 December."

60009 through Chiswick station at 07:00. Diesel on back.

Edited to add this short video: Not the best but it was very wet - and cold - and too damp to use my usual camera. This was taken on a Vado HD.

Just glad 60009 wasn't prevented from making this run - very happy to see it! And with thanks to National Rail on Twitter who answered my query and provided information about the Victoria departure and progress through Barnes.
