If the discussions RE: Nunney go well, a highly similar scene could well be enacted at Kiddy.

Check the main website for what is working friday but Saturday locos will appear on friday morning. But general rule of thumb those locos in use on friday will more than likely be in use on the saturday.

Thanks for the reply, I looked at their website earlier but obviously wasn't looking hard enough - the information is quite well hidden! As 3650 looks as if it might be out I will dust off my metaphorical red pen and try and get it "in the book"

In theory the "three-week stay" of 3650 ends today, however it is shown as working tomorrow (Friday), so I suspect it could be working this coming weekend and returning to Didcot early next week. Like the poster above I am going to try and ride behind the loco this weekend.
However the "technically correct" answer is to wait for the loco roster which, as mentioned, will be released on Friday.

    Facebook says:

I will be having an extended stay on the SVR, another 3 weeks. Returning home in the first week of September.

    Excellent, thanks for the update.

Can the loco update its own facebook page only when it is in steam, or at any time....

It's very good news - I'm hoping that I'll be able to photograph it now, having travelled behind it on what I thought would be it's last weekend on the SVR.

My phone finds SVR WiFi at Bewdley - but it's secure. 3650 obviously has the password :loco:

You've missed off 7812 on BS3 on sunday (the diner turn) matey!

2857 due back in service from Tuesday, 1501 expected to undertake running in turns during the week, 3650 remaining on the valley until early september, 5164 on the verge of being signed off for re entry to traffic and likewise for 42968. It's starting to look brighter again! Now if we can just sort out that southern lump....! (said with affection, before anyone jumps on me!)

As 7715 is having the spare boiler fitted does anyone know if the replacement will have top feed or not, as I thought that 7715 was the only preserved pannier without top feed.

Andy: Sorry about that, indeed 7812 on the diner on Sunday. Does the "diner" include limited accomm. for ordinary passengers, ie non-diners? Never known the definitive answer.
Hoping for a good blast behind steam on Saturday, working out a schedule to try and include all motive power, and do the bookshops along the line. Mind you, looking out of the window now, those upgraded drains from the 2007 storm rebuild will be doing their stuff, its bucketing down here on the Welsh border!! A country af two halves today.

Re Sir Keith Park, yes indeed it has gone a bit quiet. Presumably further remedial work in progress.

Seems to be a lot of talk about cloud/rain on various threads on here today. From where I'm sitting it's (mostly) cloudless, sun's out & approaching 27'c. With even hotter predicted for the weekend. All we do have is a fairly brisk breeze. Rain? Must be a new word in the English language, like we have a permanent umbrella in these parts.

Here in Herefordshire our local weather station at 15-00 indicated 17.0c/62.6F, whereas Heathrow was showing 27.2/80.96.

I dont care if it rains tomorrow, I'm off for a day behind steam on the SVR! Working out a schedule to ensure I ride behind the Pannier part of the way.

(without going too far off-topic, we "normally" get no more rain that some of the drier Eastern parts of the UK because we are in the "rain-shadow" of the mountains, but not this year! Although we did have a second very dry winter.)

If it's in the public timetable, which it is, then it has space for non-diners.

7714 you mean, and if I heard right there are blanked of holes so the boiler can be used for top feed or bottom feed depending whether it's fitted to 5764 or 7714.
