Perhaps a bit of a vintage bus cuircuit from the station to the village similar to the SDR Buckfastleigh bus connection might be a consideration.

Latest news from the "Steaming to Broadway" blog today is that work on the foundations for the southern end of the 2nd platform at Broadway will begin tomorrow (11 April). The platforms at Broadway will be longer than the originals hence the need for new foundations. Although some of the original foundations exist, their conditions vary but some of the original can apparently be used. Work is able to start on Platform 2 without affecting funding for the GWSR "Chicken Curve" embankment replacement due to the impressive response of donors financing the Broadway rebuild.

And the further "good news" is that the 2nd platform is now up to corbelling height for most of it's length. The problem now is that the platform length has got to the position of the proposed new (platform based) signal box and, as the foundations for this will be an integral part of the continuing platform build, we cannot continue until sufficient funds are raised for the materials which, unlike bricks, cannot be salvaged, cleaned-up and re-used. Of course, because all money is currently being invested in the "chicken curve" repair, the Broadway re-build receives no money from the GWSR, so we have to rely on raising the money ourselves. Their is currently approx £4,500 in the kitty, with £8000 the total needed to start. So, another £3,500 needed. ALL DONATIONS GRATEFULLY RECEIVED! Those of you who regularly visit Bill Britton's "Steaming to Broadway" blog will be aware of this but, for those of you who haven't, please visit: Steaming to Broadway! and you can donate as many pennies as you can spare online and receive a heartfelt "thankyou".
