Nice shots, Henry & Jonathan. I presume that "no news is good news" and that the tour reached Inverness OK? Any news from the Far North today?

For the first leg with 4492, Mick Rawlings (Driver) and Chris Yates (Fireman) to York, David Blair (Driver) and Neal Woods (Fireman) to Tyne Yard (and back to NRM), John Hunt was the fireman on Gresley to Edinburgh, but I didn't see who was driving in the end.

Very nice. I was searching the internet yesterday and someone had a gallery of pictures from within Tyne Yard. Not sure if they are part of one of the support crews or a worker at the yard but they are nice.

It wouldn't be a LMS engine without a leaking cylinder draincock.

spamcan 81, the good news is Ron Smith was saying at Dingwall that he saw the fire as we passed altough he suspects the fire will be blamed on the steam......

Wouldn't surprise me at all if the cause was something other than the locos. Let's hope they are exonerated.

You don't think they would let truth get in the way of a good story now, would you?

Come on guys. Let's get real here.

Reality is that it really COULD be the steam locomotive. It is totally irresponsible to simply suggest that the media is stirring things up. Steam locotives HAVE caught the countryside alight before in dry conditions. Why should this be any different?

Let us at least accept that there is a very strong possibility that the fire was caused by the steam loco.

In a court of law, the jury would be faced with circumstantial evidence as no one can be 100% sure. But, if the fire started within minutes of the train passing, the jury would probably find the defendant guilty of all charges!

Let's hope for a lenient sentence!
