As not everyone in the country will be wanting to watch the Royal Wedding (despite what the media think!) I wondered if any of the Heritage lines would be operating on the day. First to my attention has come my local line, the MHR

Any chance 6024 will be operating the service as she is booked to stay a while? Anyway I know where I will be on the day!

Perhaps other details of Heritage line services on the day could be posted in this thread.

The NYMR will be operating - it's the first day of the 175 Anniversary Gala (spring steam gala).

I expect most to be running.

Some may even decide to run a "Royal Train" with all the lamps on?

I won't be watching it on the telly (unless it's pissing it down).

The SVR is running a standard B, although I expect the MPD might do a bit of sprucing up.

  5. WSR is running three trainsets - two steam and one diesel - timetable here

I notice the P&DSR are closed that day, the only day they are between 1st April & 30th October.

The Middleton Railway won't be running, which some might think strange, given the name connection and the possible publicity. However, with Easter and the May Bank holiday falling on consecutive weekends, we have decided that the work load of running on 7 out of 10 days would be too much for our small band of volunteers.

So, you can watch the wedding on the telly and visit us before or after!

Looking at the MHR site they say they are operating a "special" timetable but when you click on the timetable page for the day it has a 1 steam and 1dmu service in operation. Is this correct? On the special events page you still cannot click on the Royal Wedding "event".

Pedants corner, but was the four-lamp code 'reserved' for the reigning monarch and other members of the Royal family etc run under the ordinary express passenger headcode?

Shackerstone Railway(The Battlefield Line) is operating all 10 days details on website and also on the weekends Market Bosworth is open with excellent public transport services please check on Arriva website for timings over holiday period.
it is hoped that Mayflower will be back in service for the weekend services.

Swanage Railway was scheduled to run their Blue timetable on Friday 29th.
Since the marriage date announcement they've decided to operate their 108/121 DMUs as well - making it into a Green Timetable day:
