Not the best of weather for a photo charter. The rain persisted down all day! Photography was abandoned about 2 oclock in favor of a run up the Cauldon lowe branch which gave us time to dry everything out!

http://rickeborallphotography.fotopic.net/ to see the few photos I did manage to get!

    Regards to all....Rick

I love THIS one it's made even better by the conditions, a bit like a ghost train appearing out of the mist.

An excellent set all things considered, and thanks for opting to take a ride up the Cauldon branch, it gave us p/way types an excuse to knock off a bit earlier. My gear's almost dried out now!

I think we were lucky to get any shots at all considering the weather. I must thank all involved at the CVR especially the crew (not forgetting the guard) for their efforts! It must have been quite miserable on the footplate all day! They gave us a fantastic display and quite a ride up the Cauldon branch. Just a pity we only got the chance a static shot up there! Does anyone know if Russ found his hat?

Russ found his hat, it had even landed the right way up, so did did not fill up with water!

At least we'll be able to recognise him at the next charter )

I understand that when he found his hat one of the local sheep was wearing it, hence why it was dry!
