Waiting for times to come up for this as I'm heading up north from Gloucestershire that day anyway and fancy intercepting it on Old Hill...

Might those times apply to the Pannier's light engine movement to Stourbridge Junction? I guess it would go out about 30 - 60 minutes ahead of the main train.

The weather is forecast to be nice on Saturday which is great news for fellow tour followers. I understand that timings are now up on railway touring website.

RTC website still says "approximate timings", but yes, looks like I'll need an early night on Friday!

    From RTC Web Site...

"All too soon it will be time to return home diesel hauled, setting down as outward back to Kidderminster.
There will be a special Severn Valley Railway train to take our Bewdley and Bridgnorth passengers home".

So if anyone travelling does not know it is diesel on the return then they have only themselves to blame...

I gather that the route has been changed too - now via Stafford, not Telford & Chirk, because there's no path available over the single-line section.

I hope NR get their time-tabling and special-train planning problems resolved very soon (but I'm not going to hold my breath!)

I've only been a couple of times but from what I've seen most people use Old Hill station, as there is very little in the way of viewing possibilities any higher up. If you're going for stills, there's a possibility of a shot with the canal in the foreground as well, just above the station.

Not a great deal of photting potential on Old Hill Bank im afraid due to it being a built up area, Old Hill station, the canal shot mentioned above and Rowley Regis station are the only 3 i know of, none of which are suitable for a phot with both loco's in shot due to line curvature.

There is a footpath that leads from Highfield Crescent to directly above the tunnel mouth. It's not a great location but you do get a good imression of the climb up the bank over a long distance. The view is from very high above the railway and there is considerable intervening vegetation. It's not bad for video but near useless for still. A word of warning, Old Hill at this point seems almost entirely composed of dog

a look on multimap aerial view will quickly let any prospective cameraman know that Old hill is a green corridor , added to which is that the early hour probably means no light will get in there anyway

Any sight of timings ? Many thanks in advance

    uksteam.info says '9600: Kidderminster-Bescot (banker)'
Would make more sense as RTC gives 40 mins in Kiddy...
