Just back from a great day behind the black beauty, but I must apologise to anyone subscribed to Text Alerts for my being a complete and utter numpty for failing to follow correct procedures so I understand most of my updates were not received. I hope that there was another member on board.
Perhaps it was getting up at 5.30 this morning / the medication / or just a senior moment -- or the same problem that the power box controller had in sending us wrong line after Edge Hill.
Amazing that after being almost an hour late at Wigan, a reduced stop at Preston and no Barton Loop meant we were only a few minutes down by the time we arrived at Carnforth for water.
Great run then to Carlisle, and back over the S&C, with about on time return at Lime St.
Once again apologies for my senior moment.

Thanks, Austin. I love your video, and the thought occurs to me that if we had known what was going to happen we could both have done the two locations!

Didn't this train also make an unscheduled stop at Oxenholme?

I have since been told that a short stop was made, someone on board had received serious news about a relative and wanted to leave the train as soon as possible.
