D9521 On Tour 2010!

    D9521 starts its 2010 tour schedule tomorrow evening with a light engine run from Norchard Yard on the the Dean Forest Railway to Lydney Junction in readiness for the first road trip down the M4 to the Gwili Railway.

    The loco is to appear at the Gwili Railway's diesel gala on Aug 14th and 15th (ooh, CurryEx!) and the photo charter day on the 21st. It is then due to travel to the Llangollen Railway where it will feature at the Steam Gala on Sept 10th and 12th (the Saturday so far is a day-off for us), in a running day on Sept 18th and the Diesel Gala on Oct 2nd and 3rd.

    It then returns to it's forest home on the Dean Forest Railway in readiness for the the DFR Diesel Gala on Oct 9th.

    So a busy few months for the loco (and the D9521 Locomotive group) coming up. Hope to see and meet some of you along the way!

    Looking forward to both visits! I'll be at the Gwili for both days of the Gala and hopefully at Llangollen for the Steam Gala and the Diesel Gala. A few concerned/puzzled faces at the DFR today when the 14 left for the loading road but we assured them, like Arnie, that "we'll be back"!

    I (and the group) look forward to seeing everyone over the next few weeks!

    The tour continues with D9521 leaving the Gwili and heading north to Llangollen. The 14 arrived at Llangollen on Wednesday 25th August and photos can be found on the Llangollen Diesel Group website http://www.llangollen-diesels.org.uk/.

    D9521's first duty will be on Friday 10th September.
