Thanks for sharing. IMHO Deltics are the only diesels worth getting excited over.

Post back when it does pass Mirfield... I waited 20 mins or so then got fed up (well the wife and baby did anyway!). At least it didn't come just after I left!

I was on it, we were running late from KX, 2 platforms were under repair, and then a 91 set failed (the driver was poiting to the pantograph), so we waited for a free platform. Running 30 odd minutes late at Doncatser, we heard there was a power failure in the Wakefield area, that meant us going to Leeds and reversing - which is why 22 ended up at the rear for the last leg, nothing wrong with her. Getting on for an hour late when we got back to Stalybridge for a pint.

Plenty of high speed running on the ECML, both engines bellowing.

Oh dear sorry to hear it was being towed on the back... hopefully nothing too serious. From all other accounts sounds like it was a very good trip!

IIRC, the owners of the HMPS and 'Capital Deltic' boards got off at Wakefield on the way back, with the boards, they were in our coach.

Can anyone bring a headboard along?
