  9. Good shots. Saw you Matt at Hollicombe but realised too late it was you! What a corking day with 6024 and those who wanted a fast run back from Taunton to Bristol got it tonight methinks!

    Great photos Matt. The Great Western, just as it should be; a King, chocolate and cream coaches, sand and sea!

    One thing I noticed was the T65 headcode. A bit strange because T was a destination for South Wales in steam days. Maybe someone can shed some light on why this code was used. Intriguing!!

    Hello All,

    A few photos of this hauling into Paignton Station & up through Newton Abbot, by 6000 Class "KING" 4-6-0 6024 KING EDWARD I on Sunday 30th.May 2010, have been added to my fotopic site. Link here;

    You are most welcome to view.

    Regards SteamHawk216.

    PS. As for the headcode "T65" on the return up run, my guess is someone's 65th. birthday with the initial T. But, I have been known to be wrong, sometimes!!!

    Good to see The Torbay Express running on its revised schedule with an earlier return to Bristol.When will the flat on one of the wheels of the last coach be repaired,it must be very unpleasant for the passengers. The fault was present on the same coach on The Cornishman on May !5th.

    Had a great day on Sunday,good to have the Torbay's back,even with the price increase they are the best fun and most entertaining of any railtours,with locos working hard throughout both journeys :D

    Still the same old story of that bloke fixing the Whiteball Challenge to ensure i dont win,he even managed to fiddle it so that he found the furthest back timer in the train that he could so that he could predict the speed. As we went over the summit he found a woman and told her what the speed was and she has won. This really isn't acceptable.

    Anyway,fantastic run on Sunday,particularly Flax B on the way back,the sound was simply amazing!

    I've put some photos up but the vids will be much better :)

    Do you recall speeds at Whiteball and Flax B Mark?

    I will be on the train next week so hopefully controversy can be avoided but any brown paper envelopes left under our seats in coach J will be very welcome...
