Does that explain your username? I think it was the second Castle to receive a double chimney along with extended smokebox. I am a little bit too young to remember the steam hauled Bristolian, it was always behind D821.

I think it is the best looking water carrier to date, does not look out of place at all.

Seeing as it is maroon, is it Tysley's or WCRC's?

The GUV water carrier looks pretty good - a very sensible choice of vehicle! - in contrast to the monstrosity intended for use with 6024 which seems to be something of a "white elephant".

I will also agree that the GUV water carrier has been turned out to a very good finish from looking at pictures and videos posted already today, but if Tysely owned, its prehaps a bit unusual that it has been painted maroon rather than chocolate and cream to match the commonly used stock on most of their vintage trains tours?

Perhaps a reason for this maybe?

Regardless, probably the best aesthetic vehicle to carry additional water for steam on the national network to date. Doesn't look out of place or unusual and looks great!

If you look at campainr's video above, it is not one big tank. You can see through the first window, second set of doors & second window. I would suggest a tank at each end over the bogies.

To look authentic I would say. GUV's ran in lined maroon in steam days.

Unless anyone knows better, GUV's only ran in Maroon,or all over Blue after steam had finished, not exactly an uncommon livery on BR Western region though...

Would be interesting to see an internal pics of the vehicle sometime.

But to be authentic, the Mark 2s on the train wouldn't be in chocolate and cream!
