143 was running on 138's power bogies last year. The point is all the bits are interchangeable. 140's boiler is currently up at Pete Waterman's place, but it won't go on 140 when it comes back.

Maybe best to say 138s boiler and frames will be back in service this year. The interchangeable parts are very useful particually given what happened with 143 as it enabled 143s failed power bogies to be replaced with 138s and so minimise disruption in time out for repair. Same has occurred with the diesel Funkeys.

Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway's Northern Rock should be outshopped by late spring after a heavy overhaul which has taken two years. Loco has a new boiler and will more or less be a completely new engine - very little has been left untouched by the fitters, and the frames had a thorough overhaul at TMA Engineering in Birmingham.
