    Hi

A bit of a stab in the dark but does anyone know of anywhere that I could find out sailing times out of portsmouth. I've been down in Pompey for 4 months and haven't seen any navy ships come in or out. I am right down on southsea common so am really near the sea.

I understand that they may not release the times as a matter of national security but it's worth a try!

There's also the Navy News sold locally in newsagents which details much info on shipping moves and much more. It's also worth checking the Southampton Docks movements as most of these pass Southsea beach, including the Queen Mary sometimes and the huge container ships. You get a nice tidal wave as well!
I live in Eastney so I'm only about a mile away from you!

Hopefully this will help with viewing other than the "Grey Funnel" line. The whole VTS web site is interesting, giving a wide background to all manner of events and working preactices around the Solent.

    Cheers, Neil
