Greetings from Sweden! New to this forum and came across this thread while exploring. Visited Prestongrange last time I was back in Scotland atthe end of last year, and posted pictures of some of their wagons on my blog on Railnuts: http://sweden.railnuts.com/2009/11/11/wooden-private-owner-wagons-etc/

I suspect the plan is to run brakevan rides, I know that one of their pugs, Barclay No.6 is in an advanced stage of restoration at Boness, I also remember the early days of the site when No.6 was used as the, er, carriage (for want of a better word) behind another pug for rides around the site.

It would be great to see the railway up and running again at this site. Like many small groups in our hobby, the railway group are facing many challenges, not least of which is that their workshop, located in the old pithead baths, has been declared too dangerous to enter due to the state of the roof ... Even when not running the site is well worth a visit if you are in the Edinburgh area.

west coast railways had a mainline registered one about 10 years ago. they used it as a support coach for an 8f hauled mainline engineers freight train to celebrate the finishing of engineering on the settle and carlisle.

Looking back through this thread, regarding the mystery KESR van... is it a 12" solebar or 15" solebar example? That would pin the date down a bit, at least.

    Hi,
Just found this and loved the various comments.
Anybody get any further tracking down the various vans. And, a couple of the links are broken - probably cos of that foto site falling down the failed business line - anybody keep those pics?
Just to maintain the excitement, is there a Bachmann model or not?
