    Thanks. I see Bittern was only running with one tender and I assume the stock was Steam-Heat so you're still using significant water even when stationary.

    Bittern's owner would love to see it running with both tenders, however tour operators appear to be reluctant to book it with the second tender. I guess their fear is the extra weight of the second tender will mean they need to put less coaches on their trains and therefore sell less tickets.

    Spot on. The 2nd tender would mean reducing the load by two coaches. The sad fact of main line running is that, in effect, the tour operators profit is in the last coach. hence tour operators (understandable) reluctance.
