    The annual DMU convention is coming to Wirksworth on 3rd and 4th October this year. We hope to run all of the operational units we have, including Derby Lightweight M7990 "Iris", whilst Class 119 DMBC will be available to view part-way through restoration. There will be a Driver Experience day on the Friday and a Fish and Chip Special train on the Saturday evening.     Just to let you know that the Friday driver experience runs are beginning to fill up so if you would like to get in on one you need to follow the instructions on the railway's website to book. Remember, you must be a passed driver for a DMU with manual mechanical transmission in order to participate and you must prove this before the experience commences.

    Just a reminder, this event is now this weekend! The Driver Experience runs on Friday are now fully booked. Trains run in various configurations all day culminating in a 6-car Fish and Chip Special at 19:00 on the Saturday.
