"it's still possible, click "Advanced" and select the "manage attachments" button. "

I can't find an "Advanced" button to click in the "About Me" section ?

Look towards the bottom of this webpage - immediately below the "Quick Reply" box, there's a "Go Advanced" button. Click on this, and you should get "Additional Options". One of these is to attach files/manage attachments.

If you want to add an 'avatar' picture, go to the very top left of this page: under the topic heading, in a blue shaded line there is a link entitled "User CP' (control panel). When you get that page up, look down the left hand column under Settings and Options and you will find 'Edit Avatar', (not 'Edit Profile Picture'). Click on this and it calls up a page in which you may specify a custom avatar and upload it from your computer.
