Yes I agree with you. But this type of loco move has always got the element of a time change in it by the nature of the working?

I can't see why you are getting so whipped up over the timings being posted on Wessex rail gen & on here? It’s hardly top secret information that will bring the country to a stand still.

because all timings from network rail come with a big "PRIVATE AND NOT FOR PUBLICATION" on the front, they obviously put it there for a reason ](*,)

no but the point is that network rail ask for timings not to be published, so why cant people respect that?

Well that's the inter net for you and people in the know shouldn't be so smug about having the times in their pocket. Which was stated on another thread the other day. Can't have it both ways.

Perhaps because they think that it such a request does not apply to them.

Respect, a word where the original meaning has long been lost.

Can I ask why the secrecy about this move? is it a network Rail request for the timings to be kept quiet, or a Swanage/Southern Locomotives request? Timings seem to be published regularly, so why is this case different?
Before you attack me, I'm just asking the question, I'm not interested in seeing the move etc.

A few months ago, we had a situation where an infrastructure problem was posted on Wessex Rail Gen within minutes of the engineers finding the problem. It was several hours before Network Rail control, the TOC and the customer were informed.
No doubt some will say that its not their problem that it took so long for the official channels to work.
But, when you are planning rail operations, it is really nice to get one, coherent story from one source, not just what is reality gossip.

On the front of all charter train timings produced by network rail it clearly states that they are private and not to be publised

Hi everyone this info has come from Wessex Rail gen.
    =D> =D> =D> =D>

Swanage related moves Tue / Wed

A few comings and goings this week starting with the return of 34070, towed by a
WCRCo diesel on Tuesday - times below. Then on Wednesday afternoon Allelys are
returning Bubble car 960012 (977860), presumably now green with seats, from
Ramparts Derby by road to Norden. After delivering an HST power car to Plymouth
another Alleys rig is due to move kettle 80104 from Herston Works to Norden,
returning to the works with a brakevan. Obviously this could change and the one
rig do all moves - Will update nearer the time. AFAIK Bubble should remain
    mainline ticketed.

On the horizon is the return of one of the Class 117 DMU's formerly stored at
Winfrith. This was moved to the Weardale railway in 2007, but with a change of
management left the railway on 10th July 2009 and is currently stored at Alley's
Studley yard, pending a move back to Dorset. Vehicles are DMBS 51356 / TC 59492,
which departed Winfrith on 26/03/07, and DMBS 51356 which followed on 10/04/07.

Manston move - this is actually a Trust error as AFAIK
loco is at Eastleigh RC but it's near enough..
Should be 37706, as 47245 is planned for a Southall to
    Carnforth move on Monday.

But the person who leaked it is in the wrong, not every railway photographer.
