    The 9F No. 92134 (re numbered as No. 92079) has been repaired overnight by our team at the MPD and will be hauling the 15:56 service from Grosmont.

    An exhausting 3 days of riding, walking, and taking some shots. The Castles bark sounded great, and the T3 looked born to haul teaks. Fridays afternoon run from Levisham to Goathland with T3 at the head and Repton as banker was great fun.

    It's probably the two teak coaches at the back of the Castle's train that are trying to hold it back.

    The loudest loco I've heard ! Pity about the on-going leak. The T3 looked great on the teaks. A good day travelling on Sunday with all locos performing well. The evening climb on Friday by 4079 will live long in memory.

    Credit to the railway and the volunteers - whatever other chaos is developing behind the scenes, this looks like it was a properly brilliant event. I'm sad to have missed it but so grateful for all the footage on youtube. 263 is a stunner - those early morning runs with the teaks? Lucky passengers. And 4079 just leaking buckets of steam. Incredible. Well done to all, especially for the lineup of locos put together. I won't miss it next time...

    Why does 4079 seemingly leak so much? It's been like this since it was outshopped, so presumably it would have been fixed by now if it was simply a case of repacking a gland or tightening a joint. Is it intentional therefore?!

    Leaks are rarely intentional. Sometimes with harder work a loco will develop leaks where there weren't any - viz Haulwen at Blaenavon this weekend. Some are esay to fix, others less so

    2999 is the same, and 6023 likewise before it. But 4144 and 5322 were ok.

    Some of my pics from the Friday - this was my first visit to the Moors in a few years but was absolutely worth the wait, I had a wonderful time :D

    I missed SNG as I didn't realise until the day that she'd only be on the Levisham shuttle, but hopefully I'll be back in a few weeks to see her :)

    Not just a most fantastic gala - but an event with an atmosphere full of great sounds, sights, commitment and positivity all round. Well done to all that made this possible!
