    Planning my first visit to the railway for the Saturday of this event. It's a bit of a day trip from Swanage, but it looks an excellent do.

    just got back from the gala excellent as always all the locos sounded superb on the climb up to whistle inn nice to see Sir John all spruced up a lovely little loco which will be lovely to see one day in the future running.The gala booklet was excellent as well.All the volunteers are great and a credit to the railway

    Haulwen sounded phenomenal going up the bank, probably heard her right the way down the valley at Pontypool!

    Spent a couple of hours there today until the weather put pay to any meaningful linesiding. Looked a really well thought out gala and operationally seemed spot on. The cafe was doing a roaring trade and the shop relieved me and a mate of further hard earned cash..

    The guys here really know how to put on a show and a shout out to the C&W guys who put together 2 immaculate rakes and a great looking freight train too.

    My mate was really impressed with his first visit and wishes to come back...hopefully when its a bit drier!!
