    I did my annual visit to Didcot, (it's a long journey by rail from Yorkshire over 4 hours)
    Lots to see, including the guest loco 229 'Coffee Pot' which was working the Didcot Hall shuttle, with 4079 Pendennis Castle & 4144 doing the main runs.

    Inside the main shed were 6023 King Edward II in blue livery,5900 Hinderton Hall, 3822, 6697, 5572 D1023 Western Fusilier plus others

    Outside were 6998 Burton Agnes Hall, 6106, 5051 Drysllwyn Castle, later joined by 4079, 1340 & 229

    An excellent day despite the rain on Sunday. Sadly I think the weather must have put quite a few people off, as it didn't feel very busy. Hopefully it was still a commercial success.

    229 was an excellent choice as a visitor, a good size for the short demonstration lines and still able to make a good bit of noise and steam.
    Always nice having a colour contrast to the 'any colour you like, as long as it's GWR green' home fleet. :)

    Didn't get quite as long there as I'd like (CrossCountry decided to cancel the first southbound train in the morning, and I had to rush off to London for a gig), but still managed to get a run behind all the locos, plus a good look round.
    Was also able to pay my respects to my late grandfather, who now has a plaque on the memorial in the garden by Didcot Halt.
