On time through Masbrough Junction 12.00pm. Opened up through the old station. Sounded great like gun shots out the chimney. One woman said thats how trains should sound !!

Well i did have full intentions of catching 70013 at Colton, however got onto the A64 and bang straight into the traffic so came off at Tadcaster and managed to get lost, not one of the roads i'm familar with. Anyway managed to get around to Ulleskelf just, the video is nothing special unfortunatley, but was nice to try somewhere different, the engine seemed to shut off before the station but we did get a whistle :D

I've included a shot taken from the video below, i may upload the clip later on.

    Hello steamingyorkshire,

Please do upload your video, I am sure I am not the only one who uses this site who would be interested in viewing it on this wet July day.
Looking forward to seeing "Oliver Cromwell" again down here in Plymouth on the 25th.July with "The Devonian".

    Best regards SteamHawk216.

PS. Don't get a GPS for your car, they take the fun out of driving. :smt003

return from York was delayed due to probs with signalling, 15.23 Church Fenton - Sheffield ran 50 mins late. traffic was being stopped at the station, there was a class 60 on steel train thro platform 1 followed by 70013 unusually thro p3 which then took the line across to the down slow back to its normal route just south of the station. Lots of scurrying by photographers to p4. Weather was nice all day.

Given the circumstances that's not at all bad. I saw her a little earlier on t'other side of Church Fenton. If you want to see a "nothing special" video take a look at this:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEyABRuSAAc

I had intended to go to Ulleskelf but thought I'd be shooting into the sun so tried to find somewhere on the other side of the track.

Then we were going to spend the afternoon on the NYMR (well you wouldn't cross the Pennines from Wirral just to go straight back would you?) but saw the jam on the A64 so went the other way to the A1(M), up to Scotch Corner and over to Basenthwaite to see the Ospreys instead.

The schedule was ridiculously slack from Bedford to Bletchley, 72 minutes for a little over 20 miles? No wonder it was early.
