My source says 47812/47813 have been pencilled in, but don't take it for granted.

Thanks Ralph, so they are not bothering trying for something different like they did with the 37 on the first tour, just run of the mill 47's

Looks like it, not sure if the 37 on the south route the other week attracted much interest.
Two 47s take away the need to swap locos at Scarborough.

37669/47813 should be on tomorrow's Chester Dalesman.

Scarborough Spa on 2nd Sept. Could this be the return to steam in the NW and NE, judging by the amount of rain that fell in the area on Wed, Thurs especially in the Wigan area and again this morn Fri?

That will surely depend on when NR plan to review the situation and if that is not today it will probably not be at least until Tuesday.

I understand (third hand) that until 3rd September, Scotland is RED fire risk, all other routes are BLACK.

Steady on. The only thing wrong with Tangmere is it working in far off foreign lands, rather than out of Waterloo to Weymouth or Exeter.

    ;)

The majority of passengers will be satisfied as they will have a steam engine at the front for some of the trip, and will be able to take photos at Carlisle. They are the people that matter, those not travelling don't come into the equation.
