    Every year on the first weekend in September, the Veluwsche Stoomtrein Maatschappij in the Netherlands attracts thousands of railway enthusiasts to Gelderland with its major festival, ‘Terug naar Toen’ (Back to the Past). The day gets off to an early start, with numerous steam locomotives hauling passenger and freight trains.
