From 24 July to 2 August 2026, the German Railway Association celebrated its 60th anniversary in Bruchhausen-Vilsen. The heritage railway from Bruchhausen-Vilsen to Asendorf is also Germany’s first heritage railway. Alongside the association’s three own steam locomotives – Plettenberg, Spreewald and Hoya – the guest steam locomotives Rur from Kleinbaan Service and 86 1744 from the Pressnitztalbahn were also in service.
