After running almost an hour late earlier in its journey from Birmingham New Street to Liverpool Lime Street, BR(W) Castle class 4-6-0 No. 7029 Clun Castle was just 21 minutes behind time as it eased through Hartford station on Saturday 11th July 2026 with Vintage Trains Ticket To Ride charter. By this point the train was only a few minutes behind the stopping service to Lime Street (also running late).

Thanks for the picture but <pedant mode on> 7029 Clun Castle was built to a GWR design but by BR in 1950.

Being held at Huyton apparently due to a lineside dire between Winsford and Acton Bridge causing signalling issues.

I don't know what has caused said fire - apparently a different steam train earlier, but have any others been up the WCML today?

Tomorrow apparently according to the train manager just now.

Still sat at Huyton, no sign moving anytime soon :(

Apparently we're only going forward to Warrington, but at least we'll be able to stretch legs there

Not yet. We're at Warrington and off the train, but no clue about how we move forward.
