What usually are the timings of the shuttles for galas? I access the line from the Whitby end.

Last year's timetables are still available on https://www.nymrdiesel.org.uk/timetable.html

    Thursday, Friday and Saturday

    Grosmont 09.50
    Whitby 10.15-10.35
    Grosmont 11.00

    Grosmont 16.50
    Whitby 17.15-17.30
    Grosmont 17.55

You can't quite fit in 2 round trips unless you use Northern services. I would imagine this year's diesel gala timetable is going to be similar to how the autumn steam gala timetable will be.

No 92134,then? I wonder if 62005 might make a last minute addition, since it looks increasingly unlikely to be venturing to Scotland this season?

563 is an interesting addition, presumably in the absence of a runround loop at Goathland it will be better suited to Pickering - Levisham shuttles? - and, if so, it might prove to be evidence to the SRPS that Morayshire could visit in future without being overtaxed?

Thanks for the replies regarding shuttle timings, from how I read it I was anticipating them to be later.

With the failure of 47077 yesterday and today's roster only showing 44806, 37264 and 37688 (normally 4 locos).

Is that it? Only 3 locos available for traffic at the moment?

Its a shame the K1 isn't quite available yet. If it isn't going to Scotland it would be a very useful engine to cover the Whitby's.

Plus 29 which was on driver experiences the other day. But yes, looks like just the three. 926 isn't ready yet. 92134 is having a new chimney fitted and other repairs carried out by the looks of things. 45428 still awaiting parts. 31128 doesn't appear to be coming back as it's currently working for Hanson and Hall after 50008 failed.

Is 2253 not yet signed off or limited by crew authorisation?
Is 31128 the one Pete Best owns or is that a different 31?

    Oh, forgot about 2253!

No, that's 31466 which needs new tyres I believe. 31128 is owned by Nemesis Rail and was on hire last year.
