    Yes, the more I looked at it, the more I wondered. Do you mask up the linkeages or just assume the fireman is stronger than any paint bond?

    I do like to see the details of the correctly oriented screw heads with the slots nicely lined up! Both on the cab number plate and the splasher beading....impressive.

    I haven't followed the overhaul to any degree so don't know to what extent the loco was stripped - but surely with parts like that, you take them off to refurbish, and paint them to top coat before final fitting; that also then gives you unfettered access to the plate work behind.
