RTC have confirmed times on the website, so obviously like many tours recently, they been known for a while but not in Trust or whatever drives the data to RTT, OTT etc.

 

Saphos have only just announced the dates for their Christmas trains. Two to Bath and three to the Pennines. <BJ>

 

A couple more have appeared for RTC - Esk Valley and a Liverpool-Worcester taking in Cannock Chase. Tempted by the latter.

 

The Esk Valley one looks to be very similar to the Whitby Flyer trip from March. But this one appears to be mostly steam hauled, in contrast to the Whitby Flyer that had a big chunk electric hauled.

 

Manchester to Scarborough via Bridlington and the coast line on the 5th September.. makes a great change !!

I think I was on something similar a few years back, water nr the Hull city ground, back via Skipton and Carnforth then.

 

Did 70013 that way, c2012. Started at KGX. Heavy delay around Peterborough as I recall, and reschedule of the return to give a bit more time in Scarborough. Think 45690 was the last to head that way, but the suggestion at the time was a weight restriction on a bridge. F so, hopefully it's now sorted.

 

I did York--Scarborough-- Brid-- Anlaby rd jct--Selby--York with 44932 in 2012. Tremendous racket going up from Hunmanby to Bempton.

 

Not if MK1s return (CDL fitted included) or they use one of the 6(?) generator vehicles they have. Or indeed how they are running the Jacobite….

 

CDL is not the issue - if it was how come the Jacobite is operating diesel free on most days? The issue is train heat and air conditioning. If the set needs an eth (electric train heat) supply then a suitably fitted diesel loco is needed in the consist.

RTC advertising a Colas class 56 to Blaenau Ffestiniog on 15th August.

 

Technically 4 - 6310, 6312, 17105, 35469, but the latter hasn't been used since it arrived from Riviera.

 

Do WCR ever use generator cars?

 

6310 was on the RTC Aberystwyth trip earlier this month.

 

RTC's website has been updated to show 44871 as the loco for the North Wales Coast Express on Sunday.

I see NWCE is now diesel hauled according to website, suggesting black fire risk status now formal from tomorrow. Whether regional or nationwide remains to be seen.
