Lovely to see an old friend back in running order. Also very pleased to see 5110 has retained its Holyhead shed code.

Has it ever actually been confirmed who owns her beyond 'private owner', she may have been moved to Carnforth for overhaul but if she is not WCR owned the owner just may not want the hassle and cost of mainline running?

You know fine well that nothing "official" will ever emanate from 10A.
Suffice to say that the GWSR publicity marking the arrival gives thanks to "West Coast Railways" ........

WC could be acting as an agent, but ........

A nice addition to the gala but quite a risk considering the high transport costs etc given it hasn't pulled a train or run any miles yet?

Guess its a balance of risk V's reward

Possibly sent under a special agreement using the GWSR for running in and general use. It would be quite a draw for the railway. <BJ>

    All,

I know and respect that this is a discussion forum, however, if we could refrain from speculation about agreements and such like that would be good!

Looking forward to a good weekend, who's coming?

I'll be there Sat and Sunday. Don't often get to see a Black 5 and as ours is currently out of traffic at the GC it will be great to see one again. Especially one I saw quite regularly as a kid. Looking forward to seeing it double head with 34070 if I read the WTT right, do love a Bulleid as well.

Also, just a top job from everyone at GWSR. Great mix of engines visiting the three home fleet locos are excellent too. To get five visitors when it seems to be quite tricky at times to sort any guests out is a great achievement.

From the photos of it being unloaded, it's smoke box is facing Broadway.

Coming on Saturday - looking forward to it. I haven't seen the Caley tank or 78022 before and as for 45110 it's been a long time!
