My understanding is by road, except for the last few hundred yards!

Fair enough I thought the rumour was too good to be true.

Does anyone know what steam locos are running this weekend? The road meets rail timetable has 80151 & Beachy on public services whilst the website has 80151 & Archie listed.

    Thank you.

32424 left for Didcot by road today. It is operating at Didcot over 23-25 and 30-31 May before returning to Bluebell and running in June.

Well I have just checked the HK webcams and 80151 is indeed running chimney first with the OBS car right behind it.

And a bit late too, nearly 15 minutes down into HK from EG. But decent numbers of people around so I hope that sees a good return to the Bluebell for running what looks like an interesting Road meets Rail event. Lots of Road activity seeming to go on with several plumes of steam from such vehicles that I think I could pick out.

But, with 0-6-0 828 working on the Spa Valley Railway I've put myself on gardening leave for this weekend! Plus work on my SA steam loco memoirs book.

They're doing their best to make up time - it seems the O1 was a bit late up this morning.

    EDIT:

The railway now looks to be back on time so that's good.

It can't be 34059 because last time I checked (2 mins ago on HK webcam) that has its wheels! Likewise, I don't think they're from 21C123 either - I think it still has its wheels as a rolling chassis - but if not, those wheels have been there for a while, and have indeed puzzled me before. So I presume must be from a Bulleid external to the railway - unless a prior resident such as Port Line or Eddystone? (Hope I haven't made up Eddystone spending a year at the Bluebell!?)

Eddystone could be a good candidate, as I think the main reason for it's Bluebell stay was to initially use the wheeldrop at Sheffield Park, iirc and stayed for over a year.

Did 34028 slip a tyre at NYMR and moved to Bluebell for repair?
