I don’t think I’ve seen anything on NP regarding this previously?
Every year around this time Camborne hosts Trevithick Day, a one day festival celebrating the man and his legacy. I’ve never been, but it looks like a right good do, and includes a run by the replica of his famous Puffing Devil road locomotive.

Apologies for the video, best I could find so far (it was only yesterday).

Yes I am an active volunteer
Does it need to be DVLA registered and insured as a powered road vehicle or is the road closed so temporarily not a public road?

Very few vehicles in Camborne are DVLA registered or insured so it doesn't stand out in a crowd.

    1) I would suspect the general museum PL would cover it either which way
    2) there are a variety of exclusions to the need to have, or display, a licence (which do not apply to private cars)

Puffing Devil is road registered and carries the last registration of the 'old' system, (Y prefix) issued in Cornwall but I can't remember how the number is displayed. It carries road traffic act insurance and free road tax (steam driven vehicle) the small non standard flywheel ahead of the hind axle is part of the non original braking system. It was constructed around the time of the millenium.
