A good day out in London on March 14th. Just a shame that the route had to be truncated after midday due to a protest in Central London.
The only shot I managed to get of RM1.

These are great, thanks for posting. Always loved catching a 38 (most of the way) or 73 (all the way) home when I was living in N16.

Much appreciated...excellent shots and subjects ...those were the days of travelling in buses with oil and diesel fumes permeating the travel experience...puts hairs on your chest...

A Guy Arab. Passed my PSV test on one of this type. 3 circuits of Dewsbury on market day and it was "That's enough Brian, you've passed".
    Happy days.
And those 3 axle Hudderfield trolley buses really were in a class of their own, fantastic acceleration away from a bus stop

One of the “no thrills” utility Guys. Saw that one at a Woking running day some years ago but no idea if it’s still roadworthy.

Thanks @Spamcan81 - good to see pics of the STL running, by the time I caught up it was broken down at the roadside, with the traditional seat cushion propped up at the rear.

I did get to ride on two RTs (the buses of my early schooldays), one in each direction, with a good mixture of enthusiasts and ‘civilians’, many of whom did not seem to know or care how special this was. Perhaps understandable as for a while there was a long delay for both heritage and normal ‘38 services. Probably due to the protest. I was waiting near Holborn for about 30 minutes before (you’ve guessed it) two RTs turned up at once.

On the return journey the protest was over and the service recovered with lots of vintage buses around and we went all the way through to Victoria. Great to see so many RTs & others (and their crews) in what was very like ’normal’ service with all that London could throw at them.
