Hoping to visit this weekend for the Steam Country Fayre, just wondered if anyone knew which locomotive is due to be in steam?

They've got Hawthorn Leslie Isabel on hire at the moment so presumably that one, although it does look like Hudswell Clarke Millom is serviceable too.

Former on the up side, the latter on the down by the looks of things.

Thanks both, a comment on Facebook appeared yesterday which said its likely to be Isabel and Millom.

I see some really quite extensive rebuilding work is going on to the road bridge over the former line just off of the northwest end of Quainton platform. Is it related to HS2 and/or potential future development of the line to Aylesbury or are they just making sure the road is safe ?

According to the BRC facebook page, Network Rail have requested the return of the track though Platform 1, so today is the last day of BRC trains using that track.

Also Met 1 has had it cosmetic restoration completed and the oppurtunity will be taken to pose Met 1 in Platform 1.

Which platform is platform 1? The one nearest the main building on the up line to Marylebone?

Presumably, that means the two yards will be "cut off" from each other again? Wondered if the points they've put in could remain to enable stock moves across the yards (obviously planned and agreed with NR).

I hadn't realised they'd connected the down yard as well, I thought it was only the up yard that got new pointwork to link up to the NR line.
