It’s the other way round too

Apparently it’s going to be staying with us for a week or two. The other two visitors were on the RRI this afternoon.

 

Yep turntable is in light use, the bucket was perfectly balanced upon it and could have been kept 'spinning all night'' according to a source close to the bothy.

 

Obviously the Dukedog repaint debate on the Bluebell thread caused this to pass under the radar.

Despite my general disdain for BR Black, I have to admit that looks rather good.

 

What could have been fun was to suggest that the cab would be boxed in with plywood to resemble an Adams radial

 

I think that a stylish machine line the T3 would look good in any livery - within reason!

 

Shades of City of Truro! At least that was really painted.

 

The purists will be complaining about the LSWR headcode with a BR livery

Furthermore, had the T3 remained in service into BR days, it would have been carrying a Drummond-style lipped chimney rather than the Adams stovepipe.

All the same, a pretty convincing spoof!

 

Any planned running days for Rennes before it goes back to Dean Forest?

 

....to say nothing of the austere Adams stovepipe chimney which it lost in favour of the more elegant standard Drummond chimney in the early part of the last century.

34070 Manston and Austerity 152 both left the Railway today Tuesday 7th April. 33053 hauled Manston to Norden RRI leaving Swanage at 0830, Does anyone know where it is visiting please?
152 ran light engine to RRI, 1225 ex Swanage, I crossed it with the 1234 ex Blue Pool at Corfe Castle.

 

Manston is visiting the GWSR

"GWSR is welcoming Southern Railway Bulleid Pacific No. 34070 Manston to visit GWSR from April. It will take part in the Cotswold Festival of Steam, 23-25 May."

 

34070 is also at the East Lancs this weekend.
