There is no ORR regulation on train braking. The Vintage Trains fleet is vacuum braked

Didn't say there was, and I've travelled with Vintage Trains many times.Where WCR fail to meet ORR requirements is on CDL, not fitted to their Mk1s and therefore not compliant. Most WCR locos (not all) are vac only and by default not compatible with the current WCR mainline stock which are predominantly air. QED.

There is no QED, the locos meet the operating requirements for vacuum braked stock.
    They are two separate requirements.

    Yea that was noted yesterday.
Certainly looks like an emergency release for CDL.
I know people have commented saying there’s a lack of side lights (BILs) but they aren’t mandatory at every door.

I guess the point being made is that the vac-braked locos and the air-braked stock are both independently compliant with mainline regulations, but are incompatible with each other. While at the same time, the carriages that are compatible with the locos don't meet the compliance standard for mainline operation.

They don't need to be large chunky lights similar to those on modern multiple units. The door interlock lights on the Belmond Pullmans are small and discrete to match the rolling stock.

I assume that’s also the case with the VT rake as I've often wondered where the external lights are on those as they are not obvious from pics/video?

Not every vehicle has to be fitted as far as I am aware. There needs to be an external light which goes out when the whole train is locked, but the main feature is the door interlock light on the guards door panel.

Issue 343 of Heritage Railway, page 8 there is a report of 76017 going out of service at KESR which stated the loco was expected to depart for overhaul at Carnforth. Is anyone with knowledge able to confirm or refute?

Or the owners have enough on their plate with getting Lindsay finished (admittedly now at LMS) and progressing with 30064?

True, guess we'll have to wait and see what the next phase of service entails to make an educated guess as to whether it is still owned by Mr Bunch or it has joined the 10A collection.

I suppose there's much more extensive facilities at 10A. And if 34016, also of the Bunch fleet, is also being worked on up there...

Possibly so, it would explain why 34016 has been there over a decade and yet to emerge if it isn't actually part of the 10A collection. So maybe 76017 to follow a similar path?

    Is 34016 being worked on?

I seem to think there was a picture on the forum somewhere of it not too long ago looking rather sad and untouched but under cover at Carnforth.

With very heavy caveat that this is purely lineside wibble, the most recent info I overheard was thet Bodmin is under active attention, the boilers of 46115 and 35018 have been lifted off the locos for their respective 10 yearlies. 45110 is almost ready, as Heritage Railway recently suggested, and 44767 is mechanically complete.
The 8f was completed about a year ago.
    No news of 45593.
44932 and 45699 available for traffic.
Tangmere is .... as Tangmere does.
