Sorry, I can only do facts. Explanations are outside of my pay grade. For those I would recommend direct contact with the SR.

Or another visit by 70000 but this time renumbered and renamed as 70022, as LSL did back in 2020. Guess they would still have the nameplates.

    Ouch ouch ouch

So it seems like £3 single/ £6 return for Nordon to bluepool
    .

    From the SW website:
"Short Hop tickets – valid for travel from Harmans Cross to Swanage/Corfe Castle or Norden or the reverse. For a return short hop, please buy two single tickets."

So that states its £7 single from Nordon to Corfe. £14 return.
Surly that cant be correct. £14 for 4 mins. That is a compleate rip off.

People with families will be turning away at that huge jump. £44 for two adults and children just for that. You might aswell just pay £5 to park and watch the trains

The way I read that is £7 single for any one of the following: Norden - Harmans Cross (or vv), Corfe - Harmans Cross (or vv) (i.e on the short hop rate, the journey between Norden and Corfe appears to be functionally free) and Swanage - Harmans Cross (or vv), and that £14 return fare for the half line trip seems to be in the same ball park rate as the £27.50 for the full line. There doesn't seem to be a ticket option for the journey from Norden to Corfe or vv specifically, so if that is all you wanted to do, yes it would end up being £14 return, but you would be depriving yourself of pretty much the entire product that you had purchased.

It appears the North Yorkshire confusion (disease?) is drifting southwards, especially as the Blue timetable on the station posters is at divergence from that on the website.

As mentioned by @buzby2 on a different thread Eddystone was out with its support coach today.
I had seen some steam at lunchtime but forgot about it and having to drop my wife off in the town thought I would pop out to Norden having seen 33053 go out earlier. Missed everything but noticed Eddystone on the Corfe cam and as I had to visit my Dad took the chance to grab this image of it returning (and totally missing that the Grange in the sidings until loading this image).
Not been great the past 10 days or so, last time I went out of Swanage (March 10) petrol was still available at £1.33, today £1.53, how things change. DSC_0059r.JPG

But a long drive from Swanage! Not much point spending £15 on fuel to drive to place where you can fill your tank for £5 less ...

Hopefully I can shed some light on the ticketing confusion mentioned upthread.

The short hop tickets are for journeys to Harmans Cross starting from either end of the line (Swanage or Corfe Castle/Norden). It doesn’t say on the website they are for journeys from Corfe to Norden but I can understand why it might be interpreted as such from the wording. You will not be charged £7 for a single journey from Corfe to Norden or vice versa.

The Blue Pool shuttle tickets have been named as such ahead of the launch of Blue Pool services in May, as it was easier to name the ticket now than rather than have to rename it at a later date and cause conflicts in the system. They were previously named as Norden-Corfe tickets. You will be charged £3 at a booking office/on the train, which the vast majority of people will do as a journey of that length is usually a spur of the moment thing.

I do appreciate it isn’t perfect, but the idea behind the changes was to simplify the ticketing system. Another example of this is that return tickets have been removed from sale, with rover tickets being just under double the price of a single. Issues with the new system have been raised with the relevant staff and will be rectified as soon as possible.

On another note, staff training runs for Blue Pool begin on Good Friday, with the DMMU running empty over the road to the site of Blue Pool station after terminating at Norden. These trips will run until Sunday 12th April.

I assume you mean the crew training runs begin on Good Friday? Easter starts on Easter Day (Sunday) so I would take Easter Friday to mean the Friday after Easter. You are only the second person I have heard refer to Good Friday as Easter Friday. The other one was my ex boss!!

Crew training? I sign the road and will be working to Frome River on Sunday. I also sign the DMU's as do most of my colleagues.

Yes, that's what I normally do Gary as the petrol stations at Harmans are normally cheaper than those in Weymouth. Was surprised to hear the opposite on this occasion.

It’s mostly training for more drivers to learn the traction and more signalmen to learn Norden Gates.

Ah! I see that I have one of those turns next Wednesday, but I'm training a trainee. It's a mix of ECS and passenger services. Something different :)

    Thank you for this!

Do we know how much a Corfe/Nordon ticket costs in 2026? Is it the £3 single £6 return 'blue pool ticket' ?

    upload_2026-3-25_11-13-29.png

Also any update with this MK1 coach? Not ever seen it used at the railway?

Do we know if the railway is planning to sale/dispose of any more stock?

From the window pattern (e.g. the large blank at the near end), that doesn't look like a standard passenger coach. Maybe an RMB, or something? (I don't remember all the types well enough to say for sure what it is. Someone will, though! :--)
