Thanks for the photo there Gladiator, appreciate you making the effort to get a shot even when you were feeling lousy! I was in the drivers seat for that portion of the trip.

It’s now Mid March, nearing the way to the daily season from Easter.

Do we have any further update with the halt and extension to Blue Poole with the DMUs?

Not just yet - the service isn’t planned to start for another couple of months and the final few things are still being sorted out. I’m sure that all the information about the trial will be published by the railway when everything has been confirmed and they can officially announce it :).

34072 has just been shunted at Swanage by D6515. Does anyone know which locos are rostered for this coming Saturday please?
I understand that it should be one steam loco hauling service trains and another on the lunchtime fish and chip specials. <BJ>

Not sure on allocations for the weekend but just wondering what way is 34072 facing?

The fish and chips are usually on a normal service train, so there will only be one rostered engine.

34072 faces Norden from when I went past this morning.
Also appears to be an Austerity in the run round currently on the webcam.
That would be very good for the weekend trains:)

Although interestingly the booking page says 13:20 from Norden sold out, (there is not a 13:20 on the orange timetable, but of course would be on blue). 14:40 seats available which is correctly the time of the service train.

Already hidden behind Manston and the resident foliage in steam Austerity Tank Engine WD152 "Rennes" lurks in Kings Road West Sidings.
Plus a black and white image perhaps more in keeping with "industrial clutter" associated with an Austerity in its working environment. DSC_0052-1r.JPG DSC_0051R.JPG

When buying tickets on the Swanage Railway website, the option of ‘Blue Pool Shuttle’ now comes up. So looks like it’s happening, although I can’t see it on the timetable yet.

Thank you for your help. Manston looked superb today running in glorious sunlight. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day. [BJ]
