I’ve no idea how YouTube works, but how odd to me that both the above video cover shots are almost identical?

Different days. It's just that the uploaders have used similar thumbnails for the videos.

 

Yes; I noticed, on looking closely, that one was a freight, and the other had carriages.

It's a popular spot. The line goes uphill, and into the tunnel there.
Look the other way, and you'll see the plate layer's hut we're building:

First in use this weekend on shuttles during our vintage event, followed by use on selected Saturdays with a pre-bookable round trip to Cheltenham followed by shuttles the rest of the day https://gwsr.com/whats-on/gwr-diesel-railcar-no-22/

How do they get it off the trailer, without damaging the transmission or twisting the frame?

 

Well the same company moved it to the East Somerset Railway and it survived so would assume they have a proven method.

 

A big hand appears out of the sky, muttering about not having to do this on the layout at home....

Most likely a very shallow ramp.

 

Had an excellent day today. Many happy families being well looked after by the volunteers, and I think the stickers for kids and also the leaflets about the railway and what to look out for are very good!

Locos well presented and both sets of stock were good too - particularly the middle few crimson and cream mk 1’s which look very smart! A most enjoyable day.
