Have any (restructured) heritage railways actually achieved gift aid on tickets?

NYMR - see that thread at great length for the pros and cons, it is not as clear-cut as it looks. I seem to recall from a previous visit (but I might be wrong) that the IoWSR also allows gift aid on admissions.

Quainton were trying to get me to gift aid last time I went there, although of course they do not really have "a journey" just a ride, so probably different rules apply

Scotsman has been annouced to be visiting in end of October/early November.

Guess that's why the Observation Car left to have work done on it.

The post on Facebook also seems to be hinting at an appearance by Tornado at some point in the year too.

Which post was that? When I looked again I can't see anything relating to Tornado.

It doesn't refer to Tornado itself, but, to me at least, hints that it will be appearing at Swanage at some point. The last paragraph above the link refers to big news coming soon and that it'll 'blow you away'.

“Blown away” - maybe it isn’t Tornado, but a guest appearance by the RHDR Typhoon?

Members were told recently that Car 14 needed some refurbishment both externally and internally in any event. Interior seating being re-covered in a more 'period' moquette apparently. Other works not specified to my knowledge. Possibly it's renovation, before 60103's arrival, might be a coincidence as booking space at Rampart Engineering in Barrow Hill has to be done many months in advance I would have thought.

    Good shots despite the weather!

Driver experiences continue through the week. Tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday Southern Locomotives Limited are running their driving and firing experiences for shareholders. I'm fortunate enough to have got a spot on the 10:30 Departure from Swanage tomorrow! Presumably we will have Manston. To say I am excited is a little bit of an understatement!
