    Oh dear...if I had a few million I'd be building one. I think it would be in great demand. There was something about the J50, which I can't put my finger on, that endeared me to them.

    Wild to think that, 20 years ago, none of these engines existed.

    (at least, not in that form. I struggle to think of assemblages of older engines as "new" even though I think it's a perfectly valid -and quite efficient- way to represent lost classes)

    A few of the papers have a photo of Tornado in today, with Kemi Badenoch in the cab. Taken during the opening of Beaulieu Park station on Sunday.

    I'm a member of the Hornby Railway Collectors Association (the real Hornby, not that Margate set up) and someone turned up with an example of the far-too-short Dublo "Deltic" re-painted in LNER Apple Green and given the number 6701, IIRC - and it looked really good! I might do one in Garter Blue...
