I’m told Peveril is in Douglas in the engine shed with a tarpaulin over her until she’s next required for display.

    Interesting !

And, being nosy, what's the wooden frames behind ?
    [I'm thinking railcar ?]

Yes, no. 20 I think. No. 19 has a metal skin on its cab.

Other way about, apparently, and possibly the cabs & passenger sections were mix'n'matched !
Something to do with a massive shunting exercise some [long] time ago.

I did get my meeting, despite Storm Bram ...

But will they ever run again?
The one at Fintown is a wonderful experience (in the pouring rain, with water cascading through the cab area... and it sounds like an 03 shunter), but a longer ride would be amazing.

New Year's Day saw a special train chartered by the IoM Steam Railway Supporters Association operate to Port Erin and back to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the IoMSRSA and to raise funds for the restoration of carriage F6 (b.1876) ex Rampton Collection. It was, apparently, well supported and ran to 6 carriages hauled by loco No.11 Maitland. The previous evening MNR No.4 Caledonia had been out on the New Year's Eve dining train.

I'd like them to break out of Fintown and head into the hills... but I'm absolutely certain that will never happen. It's such a sparsely populated area it's amazing they have anything at all.
The Manx pair... would be a nice low-running-cost option for the Peel line...

I think that her boiler ticket runs out in November and that the plan is to "rest" the loco for a while. Nos. 10,12 & 16 are all under heavy overhaul so, hopefully, one or more of them will be available to replace Caley in 2027.

On the subject of the Rampton Isle of Man coaches does anyone know has any thought been given on or off Island to what will be the fate of the Cleminsons? I'm guessing at some point they will have to or may already have left the site in Surrey but is there any intention to safeguard their futures. Yes I know they're in a bad way but to totally lose them through lack of interest on any parties would be sad.

There is already one preserved & privately owned on the Island, I think it's in Port Erin Museum, but it has been know to wander onto running lines

    Yes I/we already know that.

But my question is regarding the Rampton ones.

I guess storage is a bit of an issue but then there is sheds in Jurby that already are suitable for carriage storage if the right will is in place. Of course it will require the right will in the right places..

I've seen inside those sheds, but better than nothing, so I'll plead the fifth on my personal opinion of their suitability for long-term storage.

Very sadly, I think that it is quite likely that the ex-collection X Cleminsons will not be salvageable, tbh.
Unless someone has a lot of money as well as the will you mention @AllanThomson
