It seems like another of your own photos (quite likely taken the same day) sadly answers that question, tho' neither when nor where.

I hadn't thought about this until now, but does this make the terriers most diverse class out there in terms of the different companies they ran under?

LBSCR, LSWR, SECR, SR, BR, IWCR, FYNR, KESR, Newhaven Harbour. Do we count the Sadler rail coach company for 46?

I think 46 ties with 488 for the most pre-preservation owners too - five each.

You’ve missed the Edge Hill light railway which owned two A1X locos.

Also the Shropshire and Montgomeryshire Railway and the GWR who bought the ex WCPR pair

Do we include preserved railways in this?

Several were sold to industrial users and to the Admiralty. Some worked on the construction of the GCR link from Northolt to the GC&GW Jt line, while No 52 Surrey reportedly ended up in Argentina.

The various ROD/WD/Austerity types may have been the only British locos to be more widely dispersed?

And several others I think - I was just trying to list the owners of the preserved ones.

I think it went to RESCO, with the intention of restoration. Maybe @mikehartuk would know more.

My vague recollection is that it was always owned by Resco and just stored at Tenterden.

Isn't 32650 at the Spa Valley Railway at Tunbridge Wells West?

I think the comment from @burnham-t is referring back to the GNR carriage body that was being discussed earlier in the thread

Hi all, a random thought I had just now. Does anyone know whether KESR are planning another steam & diesel gala this year? Nothing on the website yet to suggest if one is taking place but I very much enjoyed attending last years galas!

I'd be surprised if they don't do another Steam Gala, last year's was very well received by all accounts - so much so that the DfR are doing a similarly inspired event with, I believe, two of the same guests. (Not a dig at the DFR btw!)

I believe that a gala or two are in the works. Dwarves of Steam was extremely popular - so much so it almost caught us out! The diesel gala was very well received.

In other news, our staff gave 76017 a full clean last Saturday. We've been very grateful for having it for the last two years, and we wanted to show our appreciation by sending back a clean engine, out of ticket or not!

For those who may have missed it, Marcia is currently in the works for repaint, and some engineering work, too. 4253 continues to go together, as does 30065. There is no sign of 4270 yet, which is a good thing. Currently, 4270 is stored in a dry, warm(ish) building, and it's probably best moved closer to the time that 4253 are ready to start on it. Also, for those who don't do Farcebook, 4253's construction of a new bunker for 5164 continues.

Incidentally, on the 4253 front, they recently posted that they had gained two new, young, volunteers. As a new volunteer, you might be expecting to be asked to empty the bins, sweep up, etc... Oh no. 4253 taught them to weld. On their first day. I think that's why that group has done so well, and will (hopefully) continue to do so.

Thanks for the update @Fireline - any news of Gervase? 4253 Group did some work on it last year so I’m guessing it’s still at Rolvenden and might be a good candidate for any future Dwarves events.

Still at Rolvenden when last seen. Not had a chance to get there lately.
