    Why not?
It is exactly the sort of thing I would expect a member to be able to point me to, as happened on the subsequent post, if I wanted some info about a Heritage railway or operator.

Is there a list of banned subjects I should be aware of?

Not at all, but it was at the end of a whole list of posts in a thread that is really about upcoming VT charters....

Can you point us to that article please. I have found Steam-in-Trust-issue-56 with an article by him, but that is about marriage, traction engines and hill walking.

There isn't an issue with posting it here I agree, and had someone else posted it I doubt that anything would have been said. This is the perfect places for asking questions given that this is a 'Vintage Trains 2026' thread and were talking about Vintage Trains in 2026...

As well as and email earlier, I see the website now features take two at a castle to Newcastle on April 11th. I'd like to do it, having booked York-Newcastle on the ill fated November trip but unfortunately there's quite a bit of uncertainty for me after February.

Is this not about VT and their charters? N0?

Saturday 30th May will be interesting. 2 charters operating over the Snow Hill line and down through Cheltenham to Bristol/Taunton - VT and Saphos. Both currently have exactly the same provisional return times for Cheltenham (21:25) and Worcester (21:5o).

We had a similiar situation last year in Exeter with a VT tour and a Saphos tour all within around 10 minutes and, given that one was stopped for water, they actually passed in the station which is very rare.

I can recall a number of occasions ten years or so ago when the Royal Duchy and Torbay Express ran on the same Sunday and the Torbay overtook the Royal Duchy at Exeter while it was taking water.

So can I, but the Torbay Express in it's classic form of 10 or so chocolate and cream mk1's, a King or Castle up front and no diesel in sight hasn't run for a number of years. The English Riviera Express and Royal Duchy run on different days so it's on really VT that has the chance of passing either of them if they run a tour down this way.

Yes I know. I was on the VT tour at the time. It's very rare up on the Snow Hill line to get 2 charters on one day though

Is there an update on the loco fleet?

Obv 5043 is available as is 7029 (which comes out this year?).

60163 + 60103 being hired in as rqd.

5080 had an appeal run for a bit but has gone quiet, whilst on the trips last year there was an appeal for 4965 boiler repairs.

There also the Pannier pair, and not forgetting 670 sitting patiently as well plus whatever is happening with 4121.

7029 has another 3 years @Michael Whitehouse confirmed earlier in the thread that it will get the required replacement of the small tubes and inspection of the flue tubes after 7 years on the mainline as part of the winter maintenance.

Decided to book one of the Shakespeare trips with 60103 - despite being much more expensive compared to a standard Shakespeare, its much better value than the shorter trips which are diesel one way. Also still significantly cheaper than any other mainline trip with Scotsman, which currently has no other 75mph bookings this year.
