    ⭐️ Exciting announcement ⭐️

    After 35 years we are going back blue and grey!

    We are excited to announce a 2 car class 108 will be turned out next year on blue and grey.

    So far one side of 53933 has been done with some finishing touches applied this morning. This car will be completed next year now as unfortunately the weather and temperature is turning against us.

    Given that all of the SVR DMU's have always been green for the entire time I have been alive, this is a great development and something different at last. I look forward to coming along for a visit to see it when done.

    David Postle at Kidderminster Railway Museum has asked me to share the following

    We have two events after Christmas

    1. Book fair. A sale of hundreds of rare, out of print and mint quality books for sale, primarily railway, but some buses as well. Also a half price sale of some of our second hand books. Starts on Boxing Day 10.00 to 4.30 each day to Sunday January 4th.
    2. Railway photograph fair - Saturday January 3rd 10.00 to 4.30 to be held in the former nursery building at the back of the main museum building. Thousands of railway photographs for sale plus the museum's own collection available for inspection and ordering copies.

    Both events are admission free.

    I had a very good afternoon on the railway yesterday.

    I took the DMU shuttle (I think that it was 51941 / 52064 / 50593?) from Kidderminster to Highley, visited The Engine House and then went onto Bridgnorth behind 13268. After a quick pint in The Railwayman's Arms on the station, it was back to Kidderminster behind 13268.

    Everything was fine, and I was especially grateful for the help given by the staff. I'm currently having some mobility problems, and they were very helpful getting me off the DMU at Highley (thank you!).

    Some further info has been added to the SVR website for the branchlines weekend. Both 101 and 108 DMU's to be in use alongside 7714, 1450 and 7802 (Saturday only). Sunday has the potential to get a little cosy if the event is popular with presumably only one full length set out behind the pannier.

    Any scope for some goods action over the weekend? Assume not a dedicated goods given the motive power available, but perhaps an auto/dmu trailing load or syphon/cattle van in a local set?
