PU 406 is at an engineering firm in the north west for what has been described as a first preservation rebuild to zero hours ..fortunately Mr H has a few £s.

16 has a broken marine PU in it.

my understanding from elsewhere is that one ran for a few years in D9000 before a cracked liner curtailed its use

Six Deltics preserved plus another two "Cabs", do we know how many original PUs passed into preservation?

So the easy assumption is one rail unit from 16, is being used as a source of parts, with a marine unit swapped in to prevent body distortion.
Liner chroming used to be a service offered by a company in Newcastle, that closed after Covid.
Martin Walker did re-manufacture many items, such as piston rings, liner seals, he did outline on FB what else went, when he sold 22 & 16.
I doubt he got down to pistons, or liners, although generators, and now the phasing case seem to be overhauled back to zero hours.

At the moment the DPS have 3 triangles, as withdrawn from service, without generators etc..., untouched.
    6 in the 3 working loco's
The question then is how many in a broken state, the as withdrawn units, seem quite happy to re-start after the overhaul of fuel and water systems.
