    I journeyed there towards the end of steam as a schoolboy and was amazed at the Locos I saw, but yes it was so big. Well worth 3 trains from Yorkshire.

    Thought you might like this one from the archives - Easter Monday 1978 and the first southbound steam working over the S&C in preservation pauses at Garsdale for water. Passengers had an opertunity to get out, stretch their legs, take photographs and savour the moment.
